The Story

About

The Next Hour was created from practical experience - not theory.

Where The Next Hour came from

Helping software organisations create customer confidence, build momentum and earn the next conversation.

After years delivering software demonstrations - as an Account Manager, Pre-Sales Consultant and Solutions Consultant - and then sitting on the other side as a buyer, I kept running into the same question: why does great software so often fail to create momentum with customers?

The pattern was consistent. Good teams with genuinely good products would leave first meetings without a clear next step. Customers would disengage, deals would stall, and the post-mortem would focus on the wrong things: price, features, competitors.

The real issue was almost always the same. The meeting had been designed around what the vendor wanted to show - not what the customer needed to believe.

The Next Hour came out of those observations - combining experience across sales, presales, delivery and buying into something that actually addresses the problem.

The focus is simple: helping software organisations create customer confidence, build momentum and earn the next conversation.

The three frameworks - Golden Hour, Demonstrability by Design, and Demo Excellence - aren't theoretical. They were built from watching what works and what doesn't, across different products, markets and buying processes.

What we believe

Most conversations about improving software sales focus on technique - objection handling, closing strategies, competitive positioning. Those things matter. But they're downstream of a more basic problem.

If a customer leaves a first meeting without believing you understand them, that you can help them, and that they can trust you - technique won't save the deal.

The Next Hour starts upstream of all of that. It asks one question: what does a customer need to believe when they leave? Then everything - the meeting, the demo, the team's capability - is built around answering it.

It's a different way of thinking about the whole thing. More deliberate, more honest about where deals actually stall, and in our experience, it works.
